Stop Human Trafficking: Sheriff’s Office Hosts Oct. 27 Public Awareness Meeting
The Kane County Sheriff ‘s Office has partnered up with The Well Church in Geneva to bring awareness to an important topic: human trafficking.
With the direct involvement of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Sheriff’s Office will host a presentation from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27 at The Well Church, 33w835 Cherry Lane, Geneva.
The presentation is free and open to the public, but some of the content will be graphic, so organizers are asking that attendees are 18 and older. You can register at by clicking this link to the Well Registration form or by calling 630-262-1083, Ext. 300.
The featured speaker is Nick Lombardo, who manages the FBI Chicago Division’s Civil Rights Investigative Program. The FBI division handles cases related to adult human trafficking, color of law violations, hate crimes and law-enforcement corruption and handles preventive education programs for local, county and state law enforcement agencies throughout Northern Illinois.
Attendees will become alert for the signs of human trafficking, learn how to identify victims and how to report the crime. Parents will learn how to protect themselves and their children.
