UPDATE: 2 Crashes With Life-Threatening Injuries Over Thanksgiving Weekend
The Kane County Sheriff’s Office reports two crashes with life-threatening injuries over the holiday weekend — both in the area of Beith Road and IL Route 47. The crashes do not appear to be related, and both remain under investigation.
Friday, Nov. 27
Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at around 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, to the intersection of IL Route 47 and Beith Road in unincorporated Campton Township.
The initial investigation indicates a 2012 Ford E-150 van driven by Charles Males, 63, of Norridge was traveling east on Beith Road and for an unknown reason disobeyed the stop sign. The van entered the intersection of Route 47 and struck a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer driven by Dana Wynn, 24, of Sycamore, which was traveling south on Route 47.
The drivers of both vehicles were both transported to Delnor Hospital. Males suffered potential life-threating injuries.
Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies along with members of the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team are continuing to investigate the cause of this crash. No citations have been issued.
Saturday, Nov. 28

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched at around 6:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, to Beith Road west of IL Route 47 in unincorporated Virgil Township.
The initial investigation indicates that a semi-tractor truck driven by Tyutyunnyk Mykhaylo, 41, of Sugar Grove was blocking Beith Road as it backing into a driveway at 45W160 Beith Road. A 1992 Lincoln Town Car driven by David Abram, 69, of Maple Park was westbound on Beith Road and for an unknown reason struck the semi.
The driver of the Lincoln was flown from the scene to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with potential life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi was uninjured.
Kane Country sheriff’s deputies and members of the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team are continuing to investigate the crash. No tickets have been issued.
