‘Cottages in the Woods’ Holiday Tradition at Good Templar Park
If you’re looking to get into the holiday spirit this weekend, consider stopping by Good Templar Park in Geneva of the annual “Cottages in the Woods” Scandinavian Christmas Crafts Event.
This is a great chances to capture the flavor of an authentic Scandinavian holiday, get a little early holiday shopping in, get a behind-the-fence look at the cottages inside Good Templar Park and meet a couple of legendary characters of the past and present: Santa Lucia, Tomte (Swedish Santa) and Elsa from the Disney movie “Frozen.”
Disney’s costumed Frozen princesses will be found at Wandering Oaken’s Trading Place at “Cottages in the Woods” event, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, and Sunday Nov. 15, in Geneva’s Good Templar Park, 628 Eastside Drive.
Kids can leave a letter to Santa (Tomte ) at his mailbox near the Community House, crafters sell their treasures and you can get an authentic Swedish hot lunch and steaming hot Jul Brew and Coffee Creations in the Ligonberry Cafe.
The entry fee is $5 a person, and kids 12 and under can come on in for free.
