Three photos taken at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia have made it to the top shelf of an international competition showcasing behind-the-scenes images at the world’s greatest laboratories.

And you can support your favorite physics lab and local photographers by voting only for the winner. But you’d better act fast, because voting closes at noon Monday, Nov. 30.

Back on Sept. 26, Fermilab invited 50 photographers into five areas of the lab that are not normally part of the public tour. The photographers were then asked to submit their best pictures, and a panel of local judges selected their favorites. Now, those top three photos are entered into an international competition organized by Interactions.org. Read more about the global competition here.

While voting for the people’s choice selection is under way, an international jury comprised of artists, photographers, and scientists will convene to scrutinize the photos and crown the global winners.

Those winners will be announced in December and will have the opportunity to be featured in f and the CERN Courier Courier, and as part of a traveling exhibit across laboratories in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.
