McNally’s Heating Helps Jurgovan Family With New Furnace
There really are 1,001 acts of kindness that happen every day in Kane County, especially this time of year. Here’s one that can warm your heart.
As part of giving back this season, McNally’s Heating and Cooling, a St. Charles-based family business, decided to award a deserving Fox Valley area family in need a new high-efficiency furnace and free installation.
After receiving numerous nominations, the Jurgovan family of South Elgin was chosen.
Amanda Jurgovan couldn’t have been more excited when she got the news.
“Our old furnace is on the fritz,” she said. “The auto fan isn’t working, so we are running it continuously in order for it to blow hot air, which drives up both our electric and gas bills.
“We are also a one-income family, and with our pocketbook lighter during the holidays, this couldn’t have happened at a better time. I’m so appreciative of this gift for my family and for my online support group of ‘mom friends’ on Facebook for nominating me.”
Amanda and husband Eric’s daughter, McKenna, was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy at 9 months old and given one year to live. Amanda quit working to take care of McKenna full time, and with the help of great doctors, she is now 4 years old and doing well. The Jurgovans also have a daughter, Emery, who is 19 months old.
Brian McNally, owner of McNally’s Heating and Cooling, loves doing furnace installations but this one was special.
“We are grateful to be helping out one of our neighbors in need here in the Fox Valley,” he said. “And we would like to thank everyone for the nominations that helped us get this furnace in the right family’s hands.”
