In 1990, Jeff Werrbach became a volunteer member of the Kane County Office of Emergency Management. During his 25 years of service, Jeff has responded to 11 federally declared disasters here in Kane County while also responding to a number of disasters in neighboring counties.

Werrbach has served in many roles within the Office of Emergency Management and presently holds the rank of lieutenant within the agency’s response bureau.

Don Bryant, director of the Office of Emergency Management, said there is no more deserving recipient for the award.

“Jeff is a constant within our agency,” Bryant said. “We can always count on him to respond to any type of emergency day or night and he is always there when called upon.

“It is with grateful recognition that the County of Kane, the Corporation for National and Community Service and the office of the President of the United States honors Jeff Werrbach with the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for his lifelong commitment to building a stronger community through volunteer service.”

About the Lifetime Achievement Award

The President’s Lifetime Achievement Award goes to individuals who have completed 4,000 or more volunteer hours in their lifetime. Presidential recognition sets a recipient apart from his or her peers. It is a tremendous honor. Even though these volunteers may not seek recognition, their example can deliver a powerful message that encourages others to take action.
