No. 5: Sheriff’s Detectives Seize 157 Pounds of Cannabis

Public safety almost always is at the top of the list of most-read stories.

Citizens are interested in crime and crime prevention, and it’s our regular practice to post press releases distributed by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office. Put all that together, and it’s probably not surprising that two of those releases made the top 10. (The other being story No. 9 on the countdown. See below.)

When the Sheriff’s Office makes arrests in what they refer to as a major drug deal, folks take notice. And that’s a good thing.

A big chunk of the Kane County portion of your property tax bill is for public safety — the Sheriff’s Office, the State’s Attorney’s Office and the entire 16th Judicial Circuit all are vitally important to quality of life here. That’s apparent in the 5,078 page views this Dec. 10 story received.
