In the newspaper business, our No. 7 most-read story might be called a “roundup” story, because it basically rounds up all the information from Kane County’s communities, then provides links so that you can find out what’s up in your home town.
In the Internet Age, when a website or e-newsletter can (a) provide information people are looking for (b) when they’re looking for it, you have the formula for a story that’s got a chance at the top 10 most-read list. In 2015, many trick-or-treat hours were changed from the previous year, so it was a task worth doing because it contained updated information that residents found of value.
