Kane County Coroner Appointed as District 1 Director for Illinois Coroners Association
The Illinois Coroners and Medical Examiners Association has appointed Kane County Coroner Rob Russell as the District 1 director. The ICMEA has 10 districts, consisting of all the 102 counties, throughout the state. District 1 includes the following 12 counties: Kane, Cook, Lake, DuPage, Will, Kankakee, Grundy, Kendall, McHenry, Boone, DeKalb and LaSalle.
Russell will follow LaSalle County Coroner Jody Bernard in that post.
“I am truly honored and humbled that my peers would nominate and unanimously approve me to be the next District 1 director,” Russell said.
According to ICMEA Secretary and Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner, Russell was nominated because of his work ethic and experience and dedication to the ICMEA and industry standards.
As District 1 director, Russell must attend two meetings per year as well as interact with the Executive Board on prevailing issues and legislation relevant to Illinois coroners and the association. Russell will also be expected to correspond with the district counties and bring forth their concerns to the Executive Board.
