Fitness Fun Fair for Kids: A Free-for-All at the Vaughan Center

Families and children are invited to the Vaughan Athletic Center on Saturday, Feb. 20, when the Fox Valley Park District will stage its annual Fitness Fun Fair for Kids.

The educational and interactive event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free to all who attend. Children will have opportunities to take part in fun and healthy activities that include an obstacle course, KitFit demo, basketball toss, age-divided bounce houses and many other activities to get kids moving and exercising.

“We encourage kids to be active by introducing them to forms of exercise they find fun and invigorating,” said recreation supervisor Jason Grzywa. “By making exercise enjoyable, kids are much more likely to develop healthy habits they will carry into adulthood.”

Entertainment will take place throughout the event, including Zumba and Kids Karate Club demonstrations. Guest appearances will feature David “The Rope Warrior” Fisher and the Fox Valley Park District Drama singers, with continuous tunes provided by a live DJ amid other fun activities.

In addition, more than 30 vendors and local businesses — ranging from sports camps to health and fitness professionals — will be on hand to promote active pursuits and healthy lifestyles. Vendors include Kickers Soccer Club, Boys Baseball of Aurora, All Star Sports, Juice Plus, Grothman Clinic and many more.
