IDOT: Lane Closures Start Tuesday, March 1, on Route 31 in South Elgin
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Friday that intermittent lane closures are necessary to make improvements to the intersection of Illinois 31 at Silver Glen Road, in South Elgin, beginning Tuesday, March 1.
To complete the work, temporary lane closures will take place in both directions of Illinois 31 at Silver Glen Road. The project is expected to be completed in summer 2016.
The scope of the project includes resurfacing and widening of the roadway, storm sewer construction and a new traffic signal. The overall improvements will add a left turn lane from northbound Illinois 31 to Silver Glen Road and a right turn lane from southbound Illinois 31 to Silver Glen Road.
