Pro Wrestlers, Minions, Star Wars, Jimmy Buffett and Princesses: Cougars Themes 2016
What do pro wrestlers, minions, Star Wars, Jimmy Buffett, political corruption and princes and princesses have in common?
They’re all Kane County Cougars themes for 2016.
The Kane County Cougars have announced a preliminary list of theme nights for the upcoming 2016 season of Cougars baseball. This is the fourth and final promotional announcement the Cougars will make as excitement builds towards the first day that single-game tickets go on sale on at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25.
Fans can order tickets in person that morning until 5 p.m. at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark, by phone at (630) 232-8811, or online beginning at 10 a.m. at kccougars.com. From Feb. 25 through Feb. 29, the Cougars are offering a special $5 discount on all box seats for 2016 regular season games.
Group outings, season tickets and ticket packages starting at five games, including a “Pick Your Own” plan, are currently on sale and can be ordered by calling (630) 232-8811. Opening Night is set for Thursday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. against Clinton.
Theme nights have long been recognized at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark for providing fans with action-packed promotional excitement throughout the game. The 2016 season continues that tradition with Halfway to Halloween Night leading the theme night charges on May 6. Building upon the success of the Cougars’ Star Wars Night, fans will be treated to Star Wars 3-D Night on Friday, May 27 and Saturday, Sept. 3. Popular staples such as Princess/Pirate Night (June 17), Jimmy Buffett Night (June 18), Military Appreciation Night (July 2), Frozen Night (July 15), Country and Western Night (July 30), Minion Night (Aug. 13) and Bark in the Park (Aug. 16) all return.
The Cougars will welcome a pair of wrestling legends in Jerry “The King” Lawler and Mick Foley for Pro Wrestling Night on July 14. Both wrestlers will be available to meet and greet fans for a portion of that evening’s game.
Again this year, the Cougars will hold a Peanut-Free Night on July 13 for children to safely attend a Cougars game. No peanuts or peanut-related products will be available at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark that evening.
Additional theme nights and promotional acts for the 2016 season will be announced on kccougars.com and the Cougars’ social media channels as they are confirmed. Dates and promotions are subject to change.
