UPDATE: Sheriff’s Office Identifies Man Found Dead in Burlington Township Home

Kane County Sheriff’s Office detectives have identified the 58-year-old man found dead after signs of a struggle Feb. 14 in his Burlington Township home.
Jeffery Rak of the 13N000 block of Engel Road was found by sheriff’s deputies at around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, according to Sheriff’s Office report, and “located evidence that a struggle may have occurred,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s Office detectives and members of the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force responded to the scene and are continuing to conduct a death investigation.
A person of interest was taken into custody, but that subject has been released without charges, according to a Tuesday, Feb. 16, update from the Sheriff’s Office.
“The Sheriff’s Office is not looking for any additional subjects regarding this incident, and we are continuing our investigation,” the report said.
