March 15 Primary Election Results: Kane County Referendums
The following are unofficial results for the five Kane County referendums on the March 15, 2016, General Primary ballot, as provided on the Kane County Clerk’s Office as of Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Voters in the village of Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District rejected a proposition to create a new tax rate. With all seven precincts reporting, the final was 572 yes and 715 no.
The Burlington Community Fire Protection District voted down a public question to create a new tax for tort liability. The vote was 311 yes to 388 no.
In Dundee Township, results of an advisory referendum opposing the Longmeadow Parkway were 8,641 yes and 3,337 no, with all 36 precincts reporting.
In Elburn, a resolution to impose a municipal retailers and service occupation tax was voted down, with 683 yes votes and 701 no votes.
The village of Sleepy Hollow has voted to increase the village’s limiting rate for levy year 2016, according to preliminary reports from the Kane County Clerk’s Office election webpages. With three of three precincts reporting, the tally was 610 yes to 588 no votes.
