Sugar

Then you might be the perfect person to adopt Sugar, this week’s Kane County Animal Control Pet of the Week.

Sugar is as sweet as her name suggests. Arriving at KCAC as a stray, the staff was able to make contact with her owner. Unfortunately, her family was not able to reclaim her.

A large girl at a svelte 63 pounds, this 2-year old thinks she’s a lap dog! She loves to be around people and other dogs. Her high energy requires a family that is willing to give her the exercise she needs to tire her out, as well as keep her mind stimulated with continued training. She is potty trained and very eager to learn more tricks.

Sweet little Sugar is looking for that forever family that will play with her, take her for long walks and snuggle the night away with her at the end of every day.

Kenya, the Boston Terrier/pit bull mix, went to her forever family two weeks ago. We’ll miss you, baby girl, but we are so happy for you. You deserve it.

Powder, one of our older residents in the cat room, also was adopted by his forever family a couple of weeks ago. Congratulations, Powder!

Mittens is still quietly waiting for someone to adopt him.

Also, Lionel, the potty trained, now neutered, pot-bellied pig, is still available for adoption. His fee is $25.

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccines including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm. The adoption fee for dogs is $200 and $100 for cats.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

• Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against Rabies and have a Kane County Rabies Tag.
• Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
• Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
• Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate complaints of neglected and\or abused dogs.
