Tree-Trimming Prompts Closures of Illinois Prairie Path in Elgin

IPP_Elgin ComED 3_15_16 The Forest Preserve District of Kane County is making users of the Elgin Branch of the Illinois Prairie Path aware of an upcoming tree-trimming project that may cause brief closures or delays on the trail in April.

Commonwealth Edison contractor Asplundh will be trimming vegetation along the power lines adjacent to the Illinois Prairie Path, between Raymond Street and Stearns Road. Work is scheduled to begin Monday, April 4. Weather permitting, the project will be completed by Friday, April 15.

Trail users are asked to be mindful of the project and of the possibility for heavy machinery and vehicles in the area. Signs will be posted on either side of the project. Flaggers will also be present to make trail users aware of intermittent closures and/or to proceed with caution.
