Sally

From Sally Ride to Long Tall Sally, the name “Sally” has been a popular name for girls since the 1960s. It actually means princess, but that could not be further from the description of Kane County Animal Control’s very own little girl currently up for adoption.

Sally is a 2-year old brown, brindle pit bull with a goofy grin that says, “I’m not a princess! I just wanna be your best friend.”

She’s a high energy pup that needs a lot of play and exercise, which will never really be an issue because she loves playing with people and other dogs. She would make a great playmate for another dog that doesn’t mind a fun-loving buddy.

Sally will need some training in the manners department but should have little trouble with consistent potty training.

So drive your mustang into KCAC and visit with Sally!

Updates Galore!

Lionel

Lionel’s new family was gracious enough to send us an updated photo of him. Evidently, he enjoys going to the movies with his people, at least according to the presence of the large bucket of popcorn he’s munching. Enjoy, little man!

Baxter, last week’s pet of the week, and KCAC’s very own Bassador was adopted by his wonderful new family. Live long and prosper, Baxter!

More good news on the home front! Thomas found his forever family and is probably figuring out right now which corner of the house will have his favorite napping place.

Take a Chance on Chance

Chance, the lucky rabbit found in someone’s back yard, still needs a home. Hop into Kane County Animal Control and take a look at Chance. His adoption fee is $20.

Sweet little Sugar is also still available for adoption.

How to Adopt

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccines including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm. The adoption fee for dogs is $200 and $100 for cats.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

• Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against Rabies and have a Kane County Rabies Tag.
• Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
• Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
• Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate complaints of neglected and\or abused dogs.
