County Board Recognizes State Wrestling Champ Christian Brunner
Class 3A state champion Christian Brunner of Dundee-Crown High School was recognized for his achievements at the April 12 Kane County Board meeting.
Brunner has had an amazing year, to say the least.
He won the 195-pound title in February, defeating Metea Valley’s Dylan Ervin and finishing the season with a perfect 48-0 record. On March 15, when the rest of us were out voting in the Illinois primary, the folks in Carpentersville were celebrating “Christian Brunner Day” after a proclamation issued by Village President Ed Ritter.
The high school senior received more accolades, a standing ovation and another proclamation from the County Board, which you can read below. Brunner plans to continue his wrestling career on a full-ride scholarship at Purdue University.
The County Board proclamation commends Brunner for “his training, his commitment to his goals, and his achievements in wrestling and extends best wishes for his continued success.”
