Kane State’s Attorney: North Aurora Pastor Charged With Sex Abuse of Child
An Aurora man who is a pastor at a North Aurora church is charged with sexually abusing a child.
Ralphael J. Robinson, 39, of the 1700 block of Felten Road, Aurora, pastor at Kingdom Church in North Aurora, is charged with one count of criminal sexual assault, a Class 1 felony, and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony.

Authorities allege that on April 18, 2016, Robinson sexually abused the victim, who is younger than 18 years old. Robinson knows the victim. The abuse is alleged to have taken place at the church, in the 100 block of South Lincolnway, North Aurora.
A warrant for Robinson’s arrest was issued April 22, 2016, and bail was set at $100,000, with 10 percent ($10,000) to apply for bond. Robinson surrendered that day at the Aurora Police Department.
Robinson appeared today in Kane County bond court. Associate Judge Thomas Stanfa set Robinson’s next court date for 9 a.m. April 28, 2016, in Courtroom 305 at the Kane County Judicial Center in front of Associate Judge Linda Abrahamson.
If he posts bond, Robinson is prohibited from having contact with the victim and prohibited from having contact with anyone younger than 17.
If convicted, Robinson would face a sentence between four and 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. In addition, he would have to register as a sexual offender in accordance with the Illinois Sexual Offender Registration Act.

The charges against Robinson are not proof of guilt. Robinson is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which it is the state’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
