Public Speaking World Champ Coming April 23 to Toastmasters Conference in St. Charles

David Brooks, the 1990 world champion of public speaking, is coming to St. Charles for the international Toastmasters District 54 spring conference, set for April 22 and 23 at the Hilton Garden Inn, 4070 East Main St.

More than 200 Toastmasters are expected to attend the event, titled “Power of the Past — Force of the Future,” but anyone interested in reaping the benefits and values of the international communication and leadership development organization is welcome to attend.

Brooks’ keynote is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, but he will be also conducting educational sessions and host a “breakfast of champions” at the hotel on Sunday.

The district conference includes a full agenda of workshops, activities, networking opportunities and featured speakers and presenters.
