Reminder: Earth Day Open House Thursday, April 21, at Creek Bend Nature Center
Earth Day is every day at Creek Bend Nature Center, but Thursday, April 21, is extra special!
Throughout the day, there will be activities for everyone — from stories and crafts in the Nature Center — to a habitat restoration activity outside in LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve. There will be Earth Day treats for everyone and we will treat Mother Earth as well by cleaning up the trails. Activities are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The schedule for the day will go as follows:
- 10-10:30 a.m. – Tales for Mother Earth: Nature stories for children of all ages.
- 1-2 p.m. – Nature Crafts: Earth-friendly crafts for you to make and take home.
- 4-4:45 p.m. – Backyard Wilderness: Interactive presentation on the wild animals found in your own neighborhood, starring a real live snake.
- 5-6 p.m. – Discovery hike and naturalist-led trail activities.
The Nature Center will be open until 6 p.m. on Earth Day. Be sure to stop by!
All ages are welcome to this free, family-friendly event. Creek Bend Nature Center is located within LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve at 37W700 Dean St., Saint Charles.
