Sunday Rollover Crash on Hughes Road Seriously Injures Naperville Man
The Kane County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating a Sunday-night (April 3, 2016) rollover crash on Hughes Road that resulted in potential life-threatening injuries to a 55-year-old Naperville man.
Kane County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle crash with injuries at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday on Hughes Road west of Bunker Road in unincorporated Blackberry Township, according to a Kane County Sheriff’s Office report.
According to the Kane County Scanner Incidents Facebook page, the accident took place at 41W600 Hughes Road, near Johnson’s Mound Forest Preserve.
The initial investigation indicates that a 1996 Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by Keith Carlson, 55, of Naperville, was traveling east on Hughes Road when it drove onto the south shoulder and crossed over both lanes of Hughes Road. The vehicle then drove up an embankment on the north side of the road and flipped over, according to Sheriff’s Office reports.
Carlson, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported to Delnor Hospital and eventually flown to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with potential life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Deputies have not yet determined if drugs, alcohol, speed or texting played a role in this crash.
