6-Year Aurora Fire Department Veteran Dies Suddenly

The city of Aurora and the Aurora Fire Department are mourning the sudden death of firefighter/paramedic Michael Adamovich, 38, who died Saturday night at his home in Yorkville. He was a six-year veteran of the Aurora Fire Department.

“We are deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected loss of one of our brothers,” said Aurora Fire Chief Gary Krienitz. “We are a family here at the Aurora Fire Department, and we will do our best to support his family during this tragic time. He was a great firefighter and paramedic and a great man. Mike will truly be missed.”

Adamovichl was born Oct. 4, 1977, in Naperville. He was most recently assigned to Engine 10 on Aurora’s West Side. Prior to joining Aurora, he worked as a firefighter in Elburn, from 2003 to 2010. Among his survivors are his wife, Rachel, and two sons, Nathan, 10, and Colin, 8. Services are pending.

An autopsy is also pending at the Kendall County Coroner’s Office in Yorkville.
