Hey, Kane Commuters! Nightly Lane Closures on the Ike (I-290) Through July
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that temporary, nightly lane closures will take place on the Eisenhower Expressway (Interstate 290) under Mill Road, in Addison and Wood Dale, beginning, weather permitting, Monday, May 2.
The closures are necessary for bridge painting and cleaning on the bridge that carries Mill Road over the Eisenhower Expressway.
In order to complete the work, temporary, nighttime lane closures will take place in both directions on the Eisenhower Expressway (Interstate 290). A permanent closure will take place on the outside shoulder of westbound I-290.
The project is expected to be completed in July 2016.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
