Kane County Hosts Powerhouse Roundtable on Economic Development May 13
Kane County’s top economic development professionals and partners will meet for a round-table discussion on Friday, May 13, 2016, as a crescendo for the first-ever national Economic Development Week.
The powerhouse roundtable discussion will take place at 9 a.m. Friday in the Ground Floor Auditorium of Building A at the Kane County Government Center.
Topics will include:
- Kane County’s groundbreaking high-speed fiber optic network.
- Brief updates on the Chicago Regional Growth Initiatives, including the renewed export grants incentive program, whose application deadline is May 27.
- A Kane County economic development ad debuting in Illinois Magazine aimed at marketing Kane County and encouraging businesses to move here.
- The newly updated “Why KANE” website and how each community in Kane County can link to it.
- How to use Kane County Connects to share your economic development news.
Following the round-table, Kane County’s Jobs Committee invites the general public as well as business and economic development leaders to a presentation focusing on health care jobs and opportunities. Speakers include Beth Batdorf, director of human resources at Rush-Copley Medical Center, and Aaron Witkowski, human resources manager for ACL Laboratories and Advocate Sherman Hospital.
The Jobs Committee event takes place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 13, in the County Board Room on the second floor of the Kane County Government Center, 719 S. Batavia Ave., Geneva.
