‘The Quad’ Mall in St. Charles Lands Starbucks, Coopers Hawk Winery & Restaurant

St. Charles officials weren’t kidding when they expressed excitement for “The Quad,” the new name and concept plan for the former Charlestowne Mall.

Two high-profile tenants — Starbucks and Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants — have signed on in the past few weeks.

The new Starbucks location is set for an outlot just off the main mall access from Route 64. And Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants announced two weeks ago that it will “uncork” a new restaurant in the shopping center, located at the northwest corner of Smith Road and Main Street in St. Charles, in the summer of 2017.

According to a Coooper’s Hawk news release, St. Charles will be the 28th location for the expanding restaurant group, which opened its first site in Orland Park in 2005. Cooper’s Hawk now has locations throughout Illinois, Florida, Ohio, Missouri, Indiana, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Coopers Hawk Restaurant“I am honored to be opening our 28th location in St. Charles and am thrilled for the opportunity to extend the memorable Cooper’s Hawk wine and dining experience to the local residents.” said Tim McEnery, Cooper’s Hawk’s Founder & CEO. “I’m confident that Cooper’s Hawk will be a welcome addition to the St. Charles community.”

Cooper’s Hawk has received accolades such as “Breakout Brand” and “Hot Concept” by Nation’s Restaurant News. In 2014, the concept was profiled by the Wall Street Journal and Tim McEnery was named Ernst & Young’s Midwest Entrepreneur of the Year.

“We are thrilled that Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants chose to locate here in St. Charles,” said St. Charles Mayor Ray Rogina. “It joins other noted restaurants in town for making St. Charles a serious restaurant destination. Cooper’s Hawk is a wonderful addition to the new Quad identity.”
