Sugar Grove Excited to Host 2017 NCAA Golf Championships
As you watch the Division 1 NCAA National Golf Championship play out on television in the coming weeks, keep in mind that the 2017 championships are going to be held right here in Kane County, IL.
The 2017 NCAA National Golf Championships will be held at Rich Harvest Farms and hosted for the first time by Northern Illinois University, with play taking place from May 19-24 (women) and May 26-31 (men) a year from now.
Sugar Grove will be only the third Illinois city to host the Division I Golf Championships. Cook County’s Olympia Fields Country Club hosted the men’s championship in 1943, while Conway Farms Golf Club outside of Chicago played host to the men’s as well in 1997.
2016 NCAA Division I Men’s & Women’s Golf Championships
Before the NCAA Division I Men’s & Women’s Golf Championships at Rich Harvest Farms next spring, the best collegiate golfers from across the nation will head to Eugene Country Club in Oregon to decide the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s & Women’s Golf Championships! The women’s championships will run May 20-25 and the men’s championship will take place May 27 – June 1.

2016 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships
- Monday May 23 – Coverage begins at 6 p.m.
- Tuesday May 24 – Coverage begins at 12:30 p.m.
- Wednesday May 25- Finals – Coverage begins at 4 p.m.
2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships
- Monday May 30 – Coverage begins at 6 p.m.
- Tuesday May 31 – Coverage begins at noon.
- Wednesday June 1 – Finals – Coverage begins at 3 p.m.
Volunteers
Over the course of the two events in 2017, more than 2,000 volunteer shifts will be needed to help put on a successful event.
2016 NCAA Women’s Golf
The field for the 2016 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships, to be conducted May 20-25 at Eugene County Club in Eugene, OR, has been determined. The Illinois team to root for is Northwestern University, which won the Shoal Creek regional.
Four regional competitions were held May 5-7 and the top six teams and three individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to the national championships from each regional site. The four regional sites included Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Bryan, Texas; Shoal Creek, Alabama; and Stanford, California. Of the 384 regional participants, 132 advanced to the finals.
The University of Oregon will serve as the host of the championships and the Golf Channel will provide live coverage for the final three days of the championships May 23, 24 and 25.

2016 NCAA Men’s Golf
The NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Committee has selected the teams and individuals to participate in the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships.
Illinois teams and players to watch include the top seed in the Black Wolf Run regional, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Albuquerque Regional eighth see Northwestern University and Illinois State University’s Trent Wallace, who is competing as an individual.
