You probably don’t think much about the air you breathe every single day . . . most of us take it for granted that there’s enough clean air to go around. Maybe we owe it to ourselves (and future generations) to learn a little more about how to improve our local air quality.

Luckily, Partners for Clean Air has come up with a way to do just that — with the added incentive of potentially winning some cool prizes!

Partners for Clean Air, a nonprofit coalition dedicated to bringing cleaner air to the Chicago metropolitan area, leads a variety of programs providing organizations with information and tools to help them understand how they can take action to reduce air pollution on a local level.

The organization recently kicked off  “Safe at Home,” an interactive game you can play to determine if you know how to help keep your family safe from air pollution. The online contest runs through Aug. 28. As a player, you have the opportunity to “run the bases” and answer questions about air quality. When you get to home plate you can enter your email and phone number to win and to sign up to receive air pollution action day alerts in your inbox or on your phone.

You must be 21 years or older to play, and also must live in one of these Illinois counties: Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry, Will, Grundy or Kendall.
