Eight Kane County road projects might be in limbo due to the state of Illinois budget uncertainty, but the show can go on for certain road-improvement efforts, including paving work.

Starting the week of July 5, 2016, milling and paving will begin on Dauberman Road between Keslinger Road and IL Route 30. Construction work hours will be from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day for about the next three weeks, weather permitting.

The resurfacing process is part of our annual maintenance to increase the longevity of county roads.

Temporary daily lane closures Monday through Friday will be required to accomplish this work.

The Kane County Division of Transportation asked that drivers watch for fresh oil signs and flaggers, exercise caution and reduce speed while traveling through the construction zone. Motorists should expect delays and increased travel times during the resurfacing process, and are advised to consider alternate routes during the work.

KDOT officials remind drivers that it is illegal for drivers to talk on a cell phone while driving through a highway construction work zone.

The Illinois Department of Transportation began informing local units of government late last week that they might need to halt work on some state-funded road projects, due to the impasse in the state legislature over the budget. Kane County Division of Transportation Director Carl Schoedel said Monday that eight Kane County road projects could be impacted starting July 1.
