Fox Valley Park District Offering 6 Free Concerts This Summer

The Fox Valley Park District will stage a series of six free concerts on select Thursday nights in June and July, beginning June 9 with Chicago country supergroup Hillbilly Rockstarz at Montgomery Park.

The concerts are a collaborative effort involving the Park District and the village of Montgomery.

All concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. and run until 9 p.m. unless noted otherwise. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. The concert lineup is:

June 9: Hillbilly Rockstarz at Montgomery Park (River Street and Mill Street, Montgomery). Calling themselves “Chicago’s very own country super group,” Hillbilly Rockstarz specializes in covering the latest in country music, performing top hits as heard on radio with covers by Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line. They play timeless classics by Johnny Cash , Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and even a few rock favorites from bands like Bon Jovi. Hillbillyrockstarz.net

Neverly Brothers, entertainment, Coon DaysJune 16: Neverly Brothers at McCullough Park (Route 31 and Illinois Ave., Aurora). The Neverly Brothers bill themselves as a rock revolution from Elvis to the Beatles. Their show is a guided musical tour through rock & roll history from the 1950s American pioneers to the 1964 British Invasion groups. Their one-of-a-kind retro rock magical history tour will have fans singing, dancing and thoroughly entertained. theneverlybrothers.com

June 23: The Stingrays at McCullough Park. Chicagoland’s ’50s, ’60s and ’70s Rock & Roll Oldies band the Stingrays play the greatest music every written with the energy, passion and authenticity of the artists they love. thestingrays.com

June 30: Snap Shot at Montgomery Park. Snapshot plays classic rock with some country mixed in. Comprised of proficient and experienced musicians, the band is all about having a good time. This “party band” plays the songs people want to hear to assure their audiences have a great time while rocking out to their favorites. snapshotrocks.com

July 14: Billy Croft and the 5 Alarm at Montgomery Park. July 28: Aurora American Legion Band at McCullough Park. Set amid the stately oaks and the riverside setting of McCullough Park, the American Legion band will be performing for its 79th year of service. The band is an eclectic mix featuring all ages – veterans, non-veterans and student musicians – playing patriotic, classical and popular music.
