UPDATE: Independence Day 2016! Fireworks, Parades Galore in Kane County, IL
We’re celebrating the nation’s 240th birthday in a big way in Kane County, IL.
On and around July 4, 2016, there are more parades, fireworks and community celebrations than you can shake a sparkler at.

Aurora
New Parade Route in 2016!
The city of Aurora will celebrate on Monday, July 4, 2016, with the annual Fourth of July Parade in the morning and Fireworks Extravaganza in the evening.
Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner will lead the pre-parade program at 9:15 a.m. on the main stage located at the corner of Galena Boulevard and Stolp Avenue. He will be joined by aldermen, Grand Marshals Tim Rater and Jim Corti and special guest performers to kick-off the holiday.
With more than 100 units, the parade will step off at 10 a.m. from the Santori Public Library at the corner of River Street and Benton Avenue. The NEW parade route for this year is: east on Benton to Broadway; north on Broadway to Downer; west on Downer to Stolp; north on Stolp to Galena; west on Galena to River Street; and south on River Street to Downer.
Parade-goers can watch from anywhere along the parade route. A prime viewing location will be near the Reviewing Stand located at the corner of Galena Boulevard and Stolp Avenue.
The public can watch the fireworks from two prime downtown locations during the Fireworks Extravaganza and Family Fun Night. Both RiverEdge Park and McCullough Park at the Prisco Center will be buzzing with activities from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., with fireworks at 9:35 p.m.
RiverEdge Park, 360 N. Broadway, will have an array of food vendors, good music and an amazing view of the fireworks. Entertainment includes:
- 6:15 p.m. – 7:15 p.m.: American Legion Band
- 7:45 p.m. – 9:15 p.m.: Fox Valley Orchestra
- 9:15 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.: Community Line-Dancing (Cha Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, etc.)
Bartlett
Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks!
The annual Bartlett Lions Club Fourth of July parade will be on Sunday, July 3. It steps off from Bartlett Park at 1 p.m. and proceeds down Main Street and South Bartlett Road to Apple Orchard Community Park.
The Bartlett Area Chamber of Commerce members will participate in the parade by pushing shopping carts they hope to fill with non-perishable food items and paper goods. Please consider bringing non-perishable items as a donation that will be shared with the Hanover Township Food Pantry. Call the chamber office at 630-830-0324 with any questions.
Bartlett’s annual Fireworks Extravaganza! will start at 9:30 p.m. at Apple Orchard Community Park on Monday, July 4. There will be a music simulcast on FM 98.1.
Batavia
Batavia’s Fourth of July Sky Concert!
Here are the details for the 2016 show:
- Location: 326 Millview Drive, Batavia
- Savor the Flavor food vendors start serving at 5 p.m.
- We’re Not! (the band) takes the stage at 6 p.m.
- The Batavia Community Band starts their patriotic music at 8:15 p.m.
- 2016 Sky Concert begins at 9:30 p.m.
We’re Not covers hits (and, sometimes, obscurities) from the ’70s through today, from Neil Diamond to New Politics, Cheap Trick to Charlie XCX, Tom Petty to Taylor Swift – with a special affinity for ’90s and 2000s alternative.

The Sky Concert theme this year is Flag and Country in honor of the 100-year anniversary of our nation’s flag.
Burlington
Fireworks on July 3
Fireworks are on July 3! Burlington Park opens at 5 p.m. Acknowledgement of the veterans past and present begins at 8 p.m. and fireworks will follow. Food and beverages will be sold at the park. Come celebrate the birthday of this great country! Rain date will be July 8, 2016.
Elgin
Fourth of July Celebration Information

Kane County Cougars Fourth of July Weekend
The Cougars’ Fourth of July celebration this year is really over three nights: July 1-3. There is no home game scheduled on July 4.
Weekly Specials, Deck Parties, Picnics and More!
Highlights include Superhero and Comic-Con Night with a special deck party in right field, Military Appreciation Night and All-You-Can Eat Picnic on July 3.
Huntley
New Location! Deicke Park!
Join the village of Huntley on Saturday, July 4, at Deicke/Warrington Park for this year’s fireworks display after dusk (about 9 p.m.). Grab a blanket and the family and make some memories! Huntley Community Radio (101.5FM) will also be LIVE at the park and will be playing patriotic music!
There is plenty of parking available at the two parks and the grass lot at Mill Street at Route 47. Flaggers will be on hand directing traffic.

North Aurora
North Aurora joins the City of Aurora for the 2016 Fourth of July Fireworks and Fun Family Activities on Monday, July 4, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

South Elgin
Fourth of July Parade
Come one, come all to the Independence Day event as South Elgin turns out for an old fashioned, flag waving parade through the heart of the community. The community honors our nation’s independence and the veterans who have fought to protect it. The parade kicks off promptly at 10 a.m. on July 4. It begins at the corner of Wedgewood and Spring Street and travels through town, ending at the Lion’s Club on Fulton Street.
The Parks & Recreation Department collects non-perishable food items at the beginning of the parade to help fill the shelves at the South Elgin Food Pantry.
For the safety of all, attendees are encouraged to keep children off of the street during the parade.
