Summer in Carpentersville! Community Yard Sale, ‘Slide the City’ and Civil War Reenactment
There’s a ton o’ stuff to do this summer in Carpentersville, with everything from a communitywide garage sale coming up this Saturday to a two-day, not-to-be-missed Civil War reenactment in August.

June 11: 3rd Annual Carpentersville Community Yard Sale
- When: Saturday, June 11
- Where: Carpenter Park, 351 Carpenter Boulevard, Carpentersville, IL
- Rain Date: June 18 (but it’s not going to rain)

ITS EASY TO HOLD A GARAGE SALE, HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
- Clean out your closets, attic and garage.
- Reserve a 25’ X 15’ space for $10 (advance) $15 (day of event).
- Figure out what you want to charge and price your items individually or in groups.
- Bring your stuff to Carpenter Park on Saturday morning June 11 between 7 and 9.
- Set up your display any old way you would like. You will need to bring your own tables, chairs and cash ($1, $5, $10) and coins to make change.
- Sell your stuff, collect the cash.
- A donation truck will arrive between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to collect any unwanted resalable items.
THE RULES
- No inappropriate adult material to be displayed or sold.
- Only approved vendors may sell food or beverages.
- Check in time between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.
- No animals/reptiles to be sold.
- HAVE FUN!
June 16: D300 Middle School Concert
- When: 5 p.m. (Orchestra) and 7 p.m. (Band) Thursday, June 16

July 23: Slide the City
- When: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016
- Where: Maple Avenue and Rosewood Drive, Carpentersville, IL
- What: Slide the City is a family friendly slip-and-slide water party event. There will be live music, food, drinks, water, and of course the biggest slip and slide ever to hit asphalt. Don’t worry, we’ve got it padded.This slide’s got more cushion than your grandpa’s orthopedic sneakers.

Aug. 6-7: Civil War Reenactments
Mark your calendars for a Civil War Reenactment hosted by Stanford’s Battery.
- When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 6 and Aug. 7, 2016.
- Where: Carpenter Park, 351 Carpenter Boulevard, Carpentersville, IL
- What: The reenactment will feature Civil War blacksmithing, battle reenactments, cannon fire, mounted cavalry and Civil War era skits. There will also be music and kid’s activities.
