54-Year-Old Bartlett Woman Dies in Elgin Motorcycle Crash

The Kane County Coroner’s Office has identified the woman who died in an Elgin motorcycle crash Saturday (July 2, 2016) as Susan Desensi, 54, of Bartlett.

Elgin police reported that Desensi was riding on the back of a westbound 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by a 56-year-old man at around 11:44 a.m. Saturday, when the motorcyclist swerved to avoid a 2006 Honda Accord driven by an 18-year-old Addison woman that was turning from Highland Woods Boulevard onto Route 20.

Desensi and the motorcycle driver were taken to Presence Saint Joseph Hospital. The motorcyclist sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said. A Thursday (July 7) news release from the Kane County Coroner’s Office said Desensi was pronounced dead at 3:25 p.m. Saturday.

The intersection of Route 20 and Highland Woods was closed for more than three hours during the Elgin Police Department’s traffic investigation.
