City of Aurora Waives Pet-Adoption Fees for Clear-the-Shelter Event
This weekend, Aurora Animal Care and Control, along with animal shelters across the country, is collaborating with NBC and Telemundo stations to find loving homes for pets in need during the second annual Clear the Shelters event.
AACC will host the Clear the Shelters event on Saturday, July 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its facility located at 600 S. River Street. As part of the one-day adoption drive, all adoption fees are waived for dogs and cats 6 months or older.
The goal is to “clear the shelters” by finding forever homes for as many animals as possible. During last year’s event, more than 20,000 pets were adopted across the country in just one day.
Although fees are waived, all other adoption requirements apply. All members of the household are encouraged to be present to find and adopt the perfect pet for the family. For more information on adoption, contact Aurora Animal Care and Control at 630-256-3630 or visit www.aurora-il.org/
