Perhaps Shakespeare was inspired by KCAC’s very own Juliet, who is definitely a ray of sunshine!

In fact, you might catch yourself holding back a giggle when you first see this 3-year-old Chihuahua. Her ears stand straight up most of the time, so she looks as though she’s always listening.

From afar, she almost looks like a tan-and-white miniature deer, but as she runs toward you, you can see her eyes have a soulful look that seem to search for that one person who might want to take the time to snuggle with her.

Juliet came to KCAC as a stray, but her spunky personality belies her seemingly difficult background. She may come across as a bit shy at first as she tentatively crawls into your lap, but very soon she is covering your face with kisses.

She doesn’t mind the company of other small dogs, but she definitely prefers interacting with two-legged beings much more. Spending time outdoors, taking long walks with her person and playing with her toys is the best way for her to spend an afternoon!

3 ‘R’s Get Permanent Homes!

• Rico, the little 1-year old black stud-muffin of a kitten, went to his forever home. Happy lounging, little guy!
• Ringo, the talky member of our guinea pig fab four is keeping the conversation real in his new ultimate forever home.
• River came to KCAC as a stray kitten when she was 3 weeks old along with her two siblings, Rain and Storm. River was finally adopted last week and is spending her days finding her happy, dry place.

• Long tall Sally, the brindle pit bull with a goofy grin, is still waiting for her Mustang family to adopt her.
• Lucas, the happy go-lucky puppy pit bull, is waiting to make someone’s day.
• Doris, the 3-year-old brown and white pit bull with the “que sera, sera” attitude is waiting for her forever family
• Renny, a 1-year old lab/pit bull mix is still awaiting his forever family to adopt him so he can have some fun!

How to Adopt

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccines including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm. The adoption fee for dogs is $200 and $100 for cats.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

• Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against Rabies and have a Kane County Rabies Tag.
• Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
• Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
• Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate complaints of neglected and\or abused dogs.
