The Fabulous Sugar Grove Corn Boil Rides Into Town July 28!

The Sugar Grove Corn Boil begins unofficially at 5 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016, with carnival rides and food by Genoa Pizza & Italian Concession.

The official kick off is 5 p.m. Friday, July 29 at with opening ceremonies and the Corn Boil parade, featuring Special Olympiads of the Fox Valley.

Located west of IL Route 47, just off Main Street behind the Kaneland John Shields Elementary School, the Corn Boil offers free admission, parking, shuttle service and topnotch bands.

From the Wilson Family Show carnival to the craft fair, bingo and children’s games, the Corn Boil offers three-plus days of fine food and fireworks.

Sugar Grove Corn BoilFor people who love the midway, organizers say Thursday is the best time to grab a wristband for unlimited carnival rides and take advantage of shorter lines and more frequent rides. Friday is classic rock night with headliner Liverpool Legends, Saturday is country night with Cadillac Grove, and Sunday is oldies day, featuring The Names.

The Corn Boil is a not-for-profit organization — an all-volunteer community group existing for the purpose of planning, organizing and presenting this annual summer festival that promotes a sense of community and provides local service organizations a fund-raising opportunity.

Pre-sale carnival wristbands entitling the wearer to one day of unlimited carnival rides during specified hours are available for $20. They are on sale at Old Second National Bank and First National Bank (formerly Castle Bank) in Sugar Grove while supplies last.

While only a certain number of wristband quantities are available, unlimited-ride wristbands will also be available at the carnival ticket booth for $25 during normal carnival hours. Each wristband will be good for the day for which it is purchased and may not be replaced, exchanged or refunded.

No amount is too small for a fireworks donation. Please visit www.sugargrovecornboil.org and click on the right side of the home page to donate and continue Bob Bohler’s tradition of providing Saturday night fireworks. The amount is tax deductible.

After the Corn Boil Committee puts aside its seed money for the next year, all proceeds are donated to other local not-for-profit groups.
