Algonquin: Stonegate Road Will Close Aug. 31 Through November

The village of Algonquin announced the closure of Stonegate Road beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Stonegate Road will be closed to through traffic between Sawmill Lane and County Line Road through November, weather permitting, to allow for construction on approximately an 0.6-mile section of the roadway.

The project includes full removal and replacement of existing road surface, including spot curb and gutter, driveway, and sidewalk replacements.

Detour routes are posted with through traffic being detoured to Hanson Road via Harnish Drive and County Line Road.  Local traffic will be permitted access to households in the area for the duration of the project.

The total construction cost of this project is approximately $589,000 and is being funded by the village of Algonquin.  The project is scheduled to be completed in November.

Drivers are urged to pay close attention to signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be on the alert for workers and equipment.  For the most current construction information or to submit questions, please visit www.algonquin.org/construction.
