Compañeros en Salud Offers Low-Cost Social-Media Workshop

Over the years, you’ve probably gotten to know Compañeros en Salud for its grassroots outreach and community events that promote healthcare and social services.

Well, those “Partners in Health” are adding a new twist with a Sept. 14 workshop designed to help local businesses and health agencies get out the good word.

Compañeros en Salud / Partners in Health is inviting you to attend a social-media workshop that provides both technical and message-driven social media strategy.

There are few people in Kane County who are more expert at social media marketing than Brian Basilico — teacher, author and founder of B2b Interactive Marketing. Basilico is an internationally recognized, self-professed geek who can help you jumpstart a social media campaign, and he does so in a way that demystifies and simplifies the sometimes-daunting technology.

The workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the second-floor conference room at Rush-Copley Heart Institute, 2088 Ogden Ave. in Aurora, with registration and breakfast from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

The cost is $20 per person, and for that you get:

Creating a Social-Media Campaign — Basilico will help you develop an honest-to-goodness action plan for the next three months and the coming year.
