Kane County’s Division of Transportation will close Boyer Road from Huntley Road to Corporate Parkway to through traffic for three weeks to quickly and safely reconstruct the existing roadway.

That segment of Boyer Road will be closed starting Tuesday, Aug.16, 2016, and will be re-opened to traffic on Sept. 7, 2016, weather permitting.

KDOT officials say traffic will be detoured around Boyer Road using portions of Randall Road, County Line Road, Boyer Road and Huntley Road. Access to local residents and businesses will be maintained during the closure.

Motorists are asked to expect increased travel time and follow the posted detour route to avoid the work zone. KDOT reminds drivers that it is illegal to talk on a cell phone while driving through a highway construction work zone.

Please watch for and obey flaggers and other traffic control devices and watch for trucks and equipment entering and leaving the construction site. Motorist should be prepared to reduce their speed, exercise caution, be extra alert, expect increased travel times and adjust their schedules accordingly.

The Longmeadow Parkway Fox River Bridge Corridor is a 5.6-mile tree-lined parkway and new Fox River Bridge crossing, with a landscaped median, running from Huntley Road to IL Route 62. The proposed road passes through portions of the villages of Algonquin, Carpentersville and Barrington Hills, as well as unincorporated areas of Kane County. KDOT officials say the parkway will provide a valuable benefit to the public by relieving congestion, encouraging economic development, improving travel options and connecting towns and neighborhoods.
