Husky Haven Hosts Pre-Bears-Game 5K Run on Sept. 11
Come out at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, and enjoy the natural beauty of the Kane County Forest Preserve and trails.
Raven’s Husky Haven and Rescue is hosting the benefit event at John Duerr Forest Preserve, Route 31, South Elgin, with a route that follows the Fox River Trail.
The first 200 adult registrations will receive a race day T-shirt autographed by Shaun Gayle of the 1985 Super Bowl team. Each registrant will receive a custom finisher’s medal and be entered into a raffle. Prizes will be awarded after the run/walk.
The beneficiary for this event is Raven’s Husky Haven and Rescue located in Sycamore. Raven’s goal is to do appropriate intake of beautiful rescued Huskies in need, undertake rehabilitation of health and well-being, and to work with the dogs in terms of training and socialization so that their adoptions are happy and sustainable.
After the run, stop by the Arcada Theater in St. Charles to watch the first regular season Chicago Bears game on the Arcada’s 40-foot screen!
This is a fun run/walk. However, for those interested in timing, the course will be timed, using disposable chip timing.
Registration cost per adult before Aug. 30 is $35 and includes one autographed T-shirt. Entrance for children 6 to 15 is $15. Kids 5 and under may run or walk for free.
To register, visit this page of the Husky Haven website.
