Local Human Trafficking Is Focus of AU’s Sept. 12 Community Forum

Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk is among nonprofit leaders scheduled to discuss “Human Trafficking: Global Problem, Local Impact” at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12, at Aurora University’s Crimi Auditorium in the Institute for Collaboration, 1347 Prairie St. in Aurora.

Panelists will address increasing incidents of human trafficking in the United States and the effect this modern form of slavery is having on society.

Panelists scheduled to set to join Kirk are James Glasgow, Will County State’s Attorney; Tara J. Smith, FBI Chicago; Frank Massolini, program director, PROMISE and founder, Anne’s House; and CaraLee Murphy, U.S. aftercare manager, A21 Campaign.

Moderator will be Rick Pearson, chief political reporter, Chicago Tribune.

The panel opens the university’s 2016-17 Celebrating Arts and Ideas series.
