New Recycling Receptacles Placed in Downtown St. Charles

Four new recycling receptacles have been placed in downtown St. Charles to allow for all of our residents and visitors to dispose of their trash properly and responsibly. The receptacles include three bins that have slots for plastic, glass and trash.

St Charles recyclingOne bin is located at the Municipal Building Plaza near the Main Street Bridge; two are at the First Street parking garage by the Illinois Street entrance and Walnut Street cut-through; and the last is at 3rd and Main streets.

“We were happy to provide these recycling bins in downtown St. Charles,” said Assistant Director of Public Works Chris Adesso. “These will help keep our city clean and keep unnecessary items out of landfills. It’s a win-win for everyone.”

The receptacles were an idea presented by the America in Bloom Committee as one way the City can be more environmentally responsible.
