“I am Iron Man!” – Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man

• KCAC’s Adorable, Adoptable Pet of the Week is written by Tecla Metzel of Kane County Animal Control.

Welcome to the continuing story of the superhero kittens found in a box with their mom alongside a road in Big Rock.

When last we left our daring trio, they were at Kane County Animal Control waiting for their forever families.

Meanwhile, Tony, the other male kitten named after Iron Man’s Tony Stark and found with the same litter, was working on his super-powered suit of iron as well as his social skills so he could graduate to the adoption floor.

The day has come and Tony is ready, willing and able to find his forever family!

The more serious of the litter, he’s still a little shy, but with the right family, he will be a great little cat.

He likes to stay closely involved with his brother and sisters, wrestling them to the ground at a moment’s notice, so he would definitely do well in a home with another cat that also has a little bit of kitten energy.

Tony has never known the love of a home or family and would love to grow up in a safe environment. Won’t you be his hero?

KCAC Adoption Updates

• Emma, the momma cat of our superhero litter, found her forever family within days of becoming adoptable. Congratulations, Emma! You raised a great family on your own, now go and live in peace.
• Gwen, the calico kitten, has been adopted and is living the life of a contented cat. Congratulations, Gwen!
• Franny, our spiritual Siberian Husky with one blue eye and one brown eye found her forever home that included another husky, just like her. Have a happy life with your new family, Franny!
• Long tall Sally, the brindle with a goofy grin, is waiting for her Mustang family to adopt her.
• Doris, the 3-year-old brown and white beauty with the “que sera, sera” attitude is waiting for her forever family.

How to Adopt

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccines including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm. The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

• Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.
• Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
• Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
• Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate complaints of neglected and\or abused dogs.
