UPDATE: Bridge Repair Work On Silver Glen Road to Continue Aug. 4
- Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this article said bridge would was expected to continue on Aug. 8. KDOT has since updated the news release to say that the work will begin Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016.
Bridge repair work is scheduled to continue Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, on the Silver Glen Road Bridge over Otter Creek, located about three-quarters of a mile west of Randall Road.
The remaining bridge repair work is expected to take about three weeks. Work consists of the installation of steel support beams, which is intended to extend the life of the existing bridge structure.
All bicyclists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the use of the area during construction for the safety of both the workers and the residents.
Silver Glen Road will be temporarily reduced to one lane of travel, in each direction during the working hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The pedestrian walkway will also be closed.
KDOT asks drivers obey all traffic control devices, watch for trucks and equipment leaving and entering the construction site, reduce your speed, exercise caution and do not talk on a cell phone or text while driving through a highway construction work zone.
