Adorable, Adoptable Aby Attains an ‘A’ For Awesomeness
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the Courage to continue that counts.”
– Winston Churchill
- KCAC’s Adorable, Adoptable Pet of the Week is written by Tecla Metzel of Kane County Animal Control.
If medals of courage were given to animals, then Aby, Kane County Animal Control’s orange tabby would definitely make the cut.
A little under 2-years-old, Aby came to KCAC as a stray, bringing with her a litter of orange kittens. One has to wonder how this new momma survived giving birth to four kittens on her own on the side of a road with no help in sight. Her survival instinct must surely have kicked in when she realized that she now had babies to look after and protect.
Luckily, someone found Aby and her small brood before it was too late and brought them to KCAC, where she has continued to nurse and look after her little ones, while getting some well-deserved care herself.
Seemingly unfazed by what she has gone through, Aby is now ready to find her forever family. With a confident and playful attitude she definitely favors long stretches of snuggle time where she can be with her favorite companion and get a lot of petting.
Aby does have one eye that is noticeably smaller than her other, but the staff thinks it just gives her more character. After all she’s been through in her short life, this courageous orange cat hasn’t allowed anything to keep her down!
Come in and meet Aby!
