Explore the Outdoors at ‘It’s Our River Day’ in Algonquin Sept. 17

Kane County residents are invited to “explore the outdoors” at It’s Our River Day on Saturday, Sept. 17, in Algonquin.

Come learn about local environmental groups, participate in cleaning up the river, watch a live water rescue demonstration, and more. Enjoy the afternoon at beautiful Cornish Park at this free event for all ages.

The annual “It’s Our River Day” is sponsored by the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County and the village of Algonquin.

It’s Our River Day

  • When: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016
  • Where: Cornish Park, Downtown Algonquin

Algonquin Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District will demonstrate water rescues in the river.

The Sierra Club will provide supplies for an on-site cleanup of the Fox River and area surrounding Cornish Park.
