This Weekend’s Festival of the Vine Promises ‘Good and Plenty’ in Downtown Geneva
One of the really fun weekend events of the post Labor Day season is the Festival of the Vine in Geneva.
If you’ve never been, it’s a celebration of “good wine, good food and good fun for the whole family,” as the Geneva Chamber of Commerce says on its website.
“Taste wines from around the world. Sample mouth-watering specialties at our Flavor Fare. Find unique gifts at our incredible Fine Arts and Crafts show. The 2016 Festival of the Vine is a great fall getaway. We hope you can make it!”
The 2016 event takes place from Friday, Sept. 9, to Sunday, Sept. 11, in downtown Geneva.
Highly recommended is the Flavor Fare — the Geneva equivalent of Taste of Chicago — where you can sample smaller portions of dishes from Geneva’s best restaurants. (There are many, and they are terrific.)
Through the years — because of the successes of Graham’s Chocolate, the All-Chocolate Kitchen and the Little Traveler and others — Geneva has developed a reputation as the chocolate capital of Kane County. And it lives up to the hype with several events, showcased below.
The entertainment is terrific, the Fine Arts & Crafts Show is among the best-attended in the area and when the weather is nice (as it’s supposed to be this weekend), downtown Geneva will be the place to be.
