Weekend ATV Crash Takes Life of 30-Year-Old Aurora Woman
The Kane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of a Saturday ATV crash that took the life of a 30-year-old Aurora woman in unincorporated Aurora Township.
According to a news release, a Polaris all-terrain vehicle driven by Jacqueline Lowry, 30, of Aurora was traveling west on McDonald Avenue at around 6:40 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, when it went through a stop sign and struck the side of a Ford Explorer traveling south on Terry Avenue. The Explorer did not have a stop sign at the intersection.
Lowry was transported to Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, then flown to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. At around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, the DuPage County Coroner’s Office informed the Sheriff’s Office that she had died.
There were no injuries to the occupants of the Explorer.
Sheriff deputies are continuing to investigate this crash. Deputies have not determined if drugs or alcohol played a role in this crash, and no tickets have been issued.
