Nov. 18 Trivia Night at Randall Oaks Will Benefit Services to Veterans

New Friends and Neighbors, a philanthropic community group in the Algonquin, Carpentersville and Dundee area, will hold its Fourth Annual Trivia Night Benefit on Nov. 18 at the Randall Oaks Golf Club.

TLS supports homeless veterans by helping them find living accommodations and necessary supplies for a home, obtain necessary services and become established within their homes and communities.

It’s easy to participate in the trivia night fun. Just put together a team of two to eight players, pick a team name, don your best patriotic wear — Uncle Sam, red-white-and-blue colors, Statue of Liberty garb, you decide — and come together as a team to answer trivia questions. Dinner starts at 6 p.m., and trivia starts at 7 p.m.

In addition to the trivia contest, the event will include raffles, a 50/50 cash raffle and silent auction items, the proceeds of which will augment the New Friends and Neighbors’ total donation.

“Last summer, we had a garage sale, and all of the $1,000 profit went to this group,” New Friends and Neighbors member Chris Evans. “We are hopeful that we can donate much more with this benefit.”

How Can You help?

As a member of the local commerce community, would you be able to share a product or service for a raffle or silent auction? New Friends and Neighbors will provide you with the tax exempt number for your donation.

Last year New Friends and Neighbors were supported by several local businesses, but could use more contributions. Should you decide to participate, you will receive recognition at the event.

“It’s a great way to acquaint members of our group with your company and show that you’re a local business that is willing to share and give back to its community,” Evans said.

“We can all use a little help at one time or another in our lifetimes,” Evans said. “Our veterans deserve all the financial and emotional support we can offer; they have made so many sacrifices for America. This event is an excellent opportunity to pay it forward and to support those who have sacrificed so much. Please join our cause.”
