Veterans Resource and Job Fair Set for Oct. 27 at Elgin Community College

More than 30 employers and 30 veterans resource agencies are expected to take part in a veterans resource and jobs fair set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, in Building B, Jobe Lounge, of the Elgin Community College Campus.

The event is designed exclusively for veterans and their families and includes numerous resources and family services.

Many of the registered employers were invited because they are on the Veteran Friendly Employer List and all of the employers must have current job openings.

Some of the resources that will be in attendance include the VA’s Mobile Medical Unit, which will provide flu shots for enrolled veterans, the Mobile Vet Center for counseling, and the Secretary of State’s Mobile Unit to issue driver’s licenses with the “Veteran” designation.  Be sure to bring your DD-214 and your résumé.
